Roots Dog Grooming was founded by Michelle Wurth. In addition to her extensive background grooming for top salons in Santa Fe, she has worked as a veterinary technician at an animal hospital as well as trained avalanche dogs for Alta Ski Patrol in Utah. With patience and love of dogs, she is especially gifted to make your best friend feel at ease and even have some fun!
Our Values
Due to the shelter crisis in this country where approximately 1,000,000 dogs are put down annually due to overcrowding and human behavior, we are focused on serving adopted/fostered/rescued/rehomed or otherwise non-purchased from a breeder or bred by client dog. This means, when there is a waitlist for clients, we will serve adopted/rescued dogs first.
Please consider adopting or rescuing a dog the next time you want to add a family member. The consequences to the female being force-bred and force inseminated, discarded often afterwards…are quite horrific. We have seen it. It’s real. Know this is happening behind the scenes...even “reputable breeders.”
There are many small dog or lap dog rescues as well as rescues dedicated to certain breeds.

We care for your dogs as you would. They are #1….always. If we need to slow down, stop or even halt mid-way and call you, we will. 100%

If you ask us how your dog did, we will tell you the truth. Some dogs have a bit of trouble at first, depending upon their previous experiences in life. We can almost always get to a good place with some practice, patience & treats! We partner locally with Ss for our homemade treats.
